To eliminate racist systems we must take control of public budgets. Participatory Budgeting lets us change systems and empower lives. Budgets are the underlying structures of our governmental and organizational policies. In our movements to eliminate racist systems it is important to educate and empower ourselves around public budgets. Participatory Budgeting (PB) is a process that interrupts the status quo of budgeting and can bring real power to the people through direct decision-making over our public dollars. In this workshop, participants will learn about participatory budgeting and how it can be used as an organizing tool for broader movements as well as result in immediate changes in their communities. Participants will also receive an Organizing for PB Toolkit.
