How do the mass popular social movements of our time, from Occupy to Black Lives Matter, create new opportunities for decision-makers, organizations, and political parties to make political and economic change possible? What do these movements all have in common, and how do we build them? In this session, Black Lives Matter NYC will share a theory of how decentralized social movements function, how organizations interact with them, and how our entire movement ecosystem can become more effective.
